Article VI

Officers

Section 1. The officers of the Commission shall be a chair, a Assistant Chair, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and any such additional officers as necessary.
Section 2. Officers are to be elected by a majority vote of Commission members present at the regularly scheduled meeting immediately prior to the biennial appointment of the Commission
Section 3. Duly elected officers of the Commission will comprise the Executive Committee.
Section 4. Duties of the officers.
A.  The Chair of the Ector County Historical Commission shall preside at all regular and special meetings; shall appoint with approval by the Executive Committee, all     standing and special committees, designate their respective chairs; and serve as         an ex-officio member of the standing committees.
BThe Assistant Chair shall in the absence of, or the disability of, the Chair, perform the duties of the Chair.
C. The Secretary shall keep complete minutes of all regular and special meetings and  shall handle correspondence in the Commission's name.
D.  The Treasurer shall manage Commission funds related to and through the county;  serve as the Commission funds related and through the county; serve as the  Commission liaison with appropriate outside foundations and financial institutions; determine when the county budget is prepared; prepare and present budgets as directed by the Executive Committee; and, make periodic financial reports. 
E.  The officers shall perform all other duties that usually pertain to the office or are delegated to the officers by the Executive Committee of the Commission Chair.
Section 5. Any vacancy in the elected officers shall be filled by the Executive Committee for the unexpired term.
Section 6. The Executive Committee shall manage the affairs of the Commission between regular meetings of the Commission.
Section 7. The Executive Committee may be assisted by the Executive Board comprised of the Executive Committee and the chairs of the standing and other committees that may be established.
Article VII

Committees

Section 1. The standing committees of the Ector County Historical Commission shall be:
A.   The Historic Properties Committee.
Duties
Responsibilities shall include supervision of the various historical properties within the county entrusted to the Commission's care, whether privately or publicly owned; and, developing a well rounded program for preserving, restoring, and maintaining historical buildings and sites.                             Bylaws Page 1  2   3  Quit
